Pugs in the Park

This weekend, we got the weather we've been dreaming of all winter--mid seventies and not a cloud in the sky. Barkley and Augie were very excited to go to the park, and even more excited to see everyone out and about!

Over Monday'ed

We are convinced that the pugs find us monumentally boring. We take them for walks. We play Chase the Pug. And yet every Sunday evening the boys tell us that they're through with us. Each Monday morning, they leap out of bed, wait by the door, and run to the car to go to doggie daycare.

And every Monday, the same thing happens. After a weekend of heavy sighs and eye rolling, Barkley and Augie expend every ounce of energy playing with their friends and running up and down plastic ramps. In essence, they "over Monday." They come home and nap like it's a career. I think we'll let them stay home tomorrow. Wouldn't want them to over Tuesday.

Not-so-terrible Twos

Recognize the little man on the left side (all by his lonesome)? That's our birthday boy Augie when we first met him. He's two years old today! Happy birthday Mr. Augie Doodleson--we love you!

Pug Frost

The good thing about living in Ohio, is that the weather is constantly changing...if you don't like it, not to worry, it'll be different tomorrow. The bad thing is that it can be 79 degrees one day (Monday) and snowing the next.

It's snowing today. The pugs are not thrilled by this belated April Fool's joke. And, quite frankly, neither am I. We had all packed our winter coats away, so their normal even walks have been cut a bit short. Looks like next week might be better, though, so we'll reserve our full-on complaining. Hopefully it's warmer where you are!

Pugs Unleashed

Happy April everyone! Augie is very happy today. Not only is his birthday nine days away, but thanks to all of you, we raised $150 for Little Daisy at the Sacramento Pug Rescue! I'm sure she'll continue to thrive and adjust to her new life with the help of her foster mom and the good people at PugPros.

For April, we've chosen to support Dogs Deserve Better--an organization dedicated to helping neglected dogs chained up outside their homes. I must admit, some of the stories on their site were difficult to read. Especially the one about Tammy Grimes and her efforts to help Doggie. Barkley and Augie bring us so much joy as furry members of our family, it's hard to imagine someone not treating their pets with the love and care they deserve.

I'm sure we all pass outside dogs on our daily drives. Understanding the difference between dogs that have outdoor amenities, and dogs who spend their entire lives outdoors is at the heart of the Dogs Deserve Better mission.
